Instruments derived from Barcoder, which produces sound by connecting the scanning signal of a barcode reader to an audio terminal. Black and white stripe patterns are turned into audio waves and generate sounds. Developing this principle, we create Barcodress on which sound signals are engraved as striped patterns. Sound waves are generated when a player scans the movements of a dancer in Barcodress. A dance expression where clothes, dance and music playing become one.

It’s just like a dress serves as a record, dance as a turntable, a player as a record player needle, and expands the record and play mechanism to a physical expression. We explore possibility of
“Electromagnetic Dance”!
